Car owners in Erbil ask the same question: should I protect my paint with film or with a coating? The honest answer is that they do different jobs.
Paint protection film (PPF)
PPF is a thick transparent film applied to the panels. Its main job is physical protection against stone chips, scratches and road debris. It costs more and takes longer to fit, and quality of installation matters greatly.
Ceramic coating
A ceramic coating is a liquid layer that bonds to the paint. It adds gloss, makes washing easier and resists staining and water spots, but it does not stop a stone chip the way film does.
Which should you choose?
- High-speed driving and a new car: PPF on the front panels, then a coating on top.
- Mostly city driving and you want shine and easy cleaning: a ceramic coating may be enough.
- Tight budget: protect the most exposed areas first.
For detailing shops
Every job should start with a written quote that lists the panels, the product and the price, then become a job when won and end in a clear invoice. TU2 Auto Detailing (IQD 35,000 a month) handles quotes with a 3-day expiry badge, job tracking, invoices with partial payments and per-job profit, and includes a public website for your shop.
