Talk to enough gym owners in Erbil and a pattern shows up: the complaint is never really about the equipment. It's "I don't actually know who's still an active member," or "I can't tell which membership plan is actually making money." Both of those are tracking problems, not fitness-business problems.
The "who's still a member" problem
If membership status lives in a notebook or a WhatsApp chat, it degrades fast. Someone's membership lapses and nobody notices for two months. A member asks when their renewal is due and the front desk has to go dig. Multiply that by a few hundred members and it's real lost revenue, not just an inconvenience.
What to actually track
- A member directory where visit count and total spend update automatically every time someone checks in or pays — not a manual log.
- A membership plans catalogue so you can actually see which plan tier members are buying, not guess.
- A trainer roster if you run personal training sessions alongside general gym access, so that revenue is tracked too, not just membership fees.
The cash question
Most gyms in Erbil are still largely cash-and-transfer for memberships. That's fine — but it's worth asking any software vendor directly whether card payment support is actually live or "coming soon." A vendor should tell you straight which one it is, not let you assume.
TU2 Gym is a simple owner-only POS built for this: member directory with automatic visit/spend tracking, trainer roster, membership plans catalogue, and a sales dashboard — IQD 10,000/month. Card payments are on our roadmap, not live yet, and we'd rather tell you that than oversell it.
