Fewer Salon No-Shows: A WhatsApp Routine That Works

A missed appointment is an empty chair you still pay for. In Iraq, WhatsApp is where your customers already are, so it is the best tool to reduce no-shows.

A three-message routine

  • On booking: send a confirmation with the day, time, service and price.
  • The day before: send a short reminder and ask them to reply to confirm.
  • Two hours before: send a last note with your location pin.

Make cancelling easy

People skip appointments partly because cancelling feels awkward. Tell them they can simply reply 'cancel', and thank them when they do. A cancelled slot you can refill is much better than a silent no-show.

Handle regular offenders

For customers who often miss appointments, ask for confirmation by phone, or book them for quieter times. For long colour or treatment bookings you can ask for a small deposit.

Keep a customer list

You cannot message people you have not recorded. Save every customer with a name and phone number at checkout. TU2 Salon keeps a searchable customer directory by phone number and saves customers automatically at checkout, so your reminder list builds itself.
