Running a Busy Barbershop: Handling Walk-Ins Without Losing Customers

Barbershops live on walk-ins. The challenge is not getting customers, it is keeping a fair, visible queue and making sure every haircut is recorded.

Make the queue visible

  • Use a simple list or whiteboard with names in order. Disputes about who was first cost you regulars.
  • Give a rough wait time. 'About 25 minutes' lets people decide to stay or come back.
  • Offer a quick-service option for people who only need a beard trim.

Reward regulars without chaos

Some barbers want to hold a slot for their regular customers. Decide the rule once and apply it to everyone: for example, regulars can book a time by WhatsApp while walk-ins fill the gaps.

Record every haircut

When a barber is paid a percentage, every haircut must be recorded or arguments follow at the end of the month. A POS that tags each sale to a barber settles the question automatically.

TU2 Salon calculates each team member's commission and salary from the sales they rang up, so month-end payment is a number you can both read. It runs on the phone you already have at the counter.
